By booking, purchasing, accessing, or using any of our services, you ("Client", "you", or "your") confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

These Terms apply to all services offered by NordPaws Pet Care, whether booked online, by email, by phone, or in person.

2. Scope of Services

NordPaws Pet Care provides pet-related services, which may include, without limitation:

  • Dog grooming and coat care;
  • Cat boarding and daily care;
  • Pet daycare for dogs;
  • Nutritional guidance for pets;
  • Basic pet training support;
  • Home pet sitting visits.

Service descriptions, availability, duration, pricing, and any special conditions may be provided on our website, in booking confirmations, service agreements, or other communications. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time, subject to any confirmed bookings already accepted by us.

Unless expressly agreed in writing, our services are limited to care, support, and guidance and do not constitute veterinary diagnosis, veterinary treatment, emergency medical care, or any guarantee of behavioral outcomes.

3. User Obligations and Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information about yourself and your pet(s);
  • Disclose all relevant medical conditions, allergies, behavioral issues, medications, dietary restrictions, and special care requirements;
  • Ensure that your pet is in suitable condition to receive the requested service;
  • Provide valid vaccination records, parasite treatment information, and any other documentation reasonably requested by us;
  • Ensure your pet is free from contagious disease, parasites, or other conditions that may endanger other animals, staff, or property;
  • Comply with all drop-off, pick-up, and access instructions;
  • Provide emergency contact details and authorize us to contact a veterinarian if we reasonably consider it necessary;
  • Pay all applicable fees on time;
  • Treat our staff, premises, equipment, and other clients with respect.

You are responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or additional costs caused by inaccurate information, failure to disclose relevant facts, or your pet's conduct, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate services if your pet appears ill, aggressive, unsafe, unvaccinated, or otherwise unsuitable for the requested service.

4. Payment Terms and Conditions

Fees are charged according to the prices communicated at the time of booking or as otherwise agreed in writing. Unless stated otherwise, prices are in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and may include applicable taxes where required by law.

  • Payment is due at the time specified in the booking confirmation or invoice;
  • We may require advance payment, deposits, or pre-authorization for certain services;
  • Late payments may result in suspension of services and recovery costs to the extent permitted by law;
  • Any bank charges, currency conversion fees, or payment provider fees are your responsibility unless otherwise stated;
  • Additional charges may apply for extended care, late pick-up, special handling, emergency transport, or extra supplies.

If a service requires a deposit, the deposit may be applied against the final invoice unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to cancel bookings affected by obvious pricing mistakes, subject to applicable law.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be made in accordance with the cancellation terms communicated at booking or, if none are stated, within a reasonable time before the scheduled service.

  • Short-notice cancellations may be charged in full or in part, depending on the service and the time reserved;
  • Deposits may be non-refundable where we have reserved time, staff, or facilities for your booking;
  • No-shows and failure to deliver the pet at the agreed time may be charged as a completed booking;
  • Refunds, if any, will be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible;
  • Refunds do not apply to services already performed, consumables used, or third-party costs incurred on your behalf.

If we must cancel or materially change a service due to circumstances within our control, we will offer a reasonable alternative, rescheduling, or refund for the unused portion of the service, as appropriate.

6. Liability Limitations

We will perform our services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law, NordPaws Pet Care shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of goodwill.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any service shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Norwegian law.

You acknowledge that pets may behave unpredictably. We are not responsible for injuries, illness, escape, damage, or loss caused by a pet's inherent behavior, pre-existing condition, undisclosed issue, or failure to follow your instructions, except where caused by our negligence or breach of these Terms.

If a pet requires urgent medical attention, we may seek veterinary care at your cost and risk, using the emergency contact information provided by you. We are not liable for outcomes arising from veterinary treatment provided by third parties.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, materials, branding, text, images, logos, service descriptions, documents, and other intellectual property made available by NordPaws Pet Care remain our property or the property of our licensors, unless otherwise stated.

You may use our materials only for the purpose of receiving our services and may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, or exploit them without our prior written consent, except as permitted by mandatory law.

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide to us may be used by us without restriction or compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Data Protection and Privacy

We process personal data in connection with bookings, service delivery, communication, billing, safety, and legal compliance. This may include your contact details, payment information, pet information, and relevant health or care details.

We handle personal data in accordance with applicable Norwegian data protection laws and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable. We will only process personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so.

You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you provide about third parties, such as emergency contacts or alternate pick-up persons, is shared lawfully and with appropriate notice.

For more information about how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data, please refer to our privacy information or privacy policy, if provided separately. In the event of inconsistency, mandatory law shall prevail.

9. Force Majeure

NordPaws Pet Care shall not be liable for any delay, failure, or interruption in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to fire, flood, severe weather, power outage, epidemic, pandemic, labor dispute, governmental action, transport disruption, supply shortage, or failure of third-party systems.

In such circumstances, we may suspend, reschedule, or modify services as reasonably necessary. If a force majeure event continues for an extended period, either party may cancel the affected service by notice, and any refund or payment adjustment will be made fairly based on work already performed and costs incurred.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operational practices, or legal requirements. The updated Terms will take effect when published or on a later date stated by us.

Your continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using our services and, where applicable, cancel any future bookings.

11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or our services shall, to the extent permitted by mandatory law, be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway, with venue in Oslo unless otherwise required by applicable law.

13. Severability Clause

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a competent court or authority, that provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Any invalid or unenforceable provision shall, where possible, be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent and commercial purpose of the affected provision.
